In the midst of an executive transition of a long-time founder, Raven Group worked with a multi-divisional, geographically dispersed team to examine the organization’s present status and outlook for the future, and guided the organization in developing a new vision, mission, goals, and strategies. In followup to strategy development, we offered continued implementation advising coaching to ensure plan execution.
Sustainability Review and Planning
Raven Group led a sustainability review process for a founder-led arts organization, examining all areas of the organization: business strategy, leadership, operations, programs and services, and resources. Through a series of interviews, surveys, focus groups, and board retreats, we gathered critical data to present an overall assessment and recommendations for key areas of development. Subsequently, we led the organization through a strategic planning process with these findings as the foundation.
Jeanie Duncan, in partnership with TransitionGuides, led a state-wide youth service organization through a process to implement succession basics –emergency backup plans for its management team and a succession policy. This work was coupled with leader development strategies to link their talent development to the organization’s overarching strategic goals and business plan.
As adjunct faculty for the Center for Creative Leadership, Jeanie co-facilitated a week-long leadership development program for a senior leadership team in the health and human services industry. Participants experienced a program design that included individual and group assessments, team building exercises, and leadership skill development in essential areas to the advancement of their division – influence, change and transition, learning type, interpersonal savvy, and giving and receiving feedback.
A community-based nonprofit music organization sought the services of Raven Group to strategize and advise on its future direction. An in-depth analysis resulted in recommendations for merger with a like–mission local organization, for which we offered consulting support and resources to help facilitate the process. This transition worked was further supported with executive coaching for the Executive Director.
In partnership with TransitionGuides, Jeanie’s recent work in executive search includes a nine–state nonprofit regional arts organization, a performing arts center, and two community development organizations in the Southeast. Services included pre-search assessment and planning, national candidate sourcing, multi-stage interview process, and post–hire on–boarding services.
